2nd Day of Pulse Steroids
jan 26, 2010
Another day in the hospital...and another cycle for my pulse steroid. They gave me 500 mg of methylprednisone and 1 tab of omnepron and Coversyl 4mg (Electrolytes). It took about 30 mins for the pain to go away...i tried not to feel the pain because my daughter is beside me but i can't. She told me "Papa I'll kiss you so the pain would go away" for a three year old to say that it meant a lot for me. I need to fight and I know God will always be beside me and help me get back in to shape...help me to be the best father for my daughter and help my family surpassed this trial.
A lot of visitors came in today, friends and family members. To all my well wishers, friends and family I thank you for all your support......

Pulse Steroids Confinement
1:00 pm(Jan25,2010) getting ready to go to the hospital I'm not sure if I will undergo dialysis or pulse steroid...Yet I'm still hopefull I won't undergo Hemodialysis...My family's weekend was full of attending mass and prayers for my recovery and to the result of my Creatinine and BUN test. On our way to the hospital we picked up the results of my test my creatinine rose up to 548.11 umol/L and my BUN is at 31.59 mmol/L. My KUB ultrasound shows that both kidneys are normal but my left kidney has two renal cyst measuring 6. x 8.0 x 5.1 mm and 5.5 x 3.4 x 2.1 mm..not sure what my doctor will say but I'm still hopeful I won't go dialysis
My doctor came at around 2:30 pm she look at my results and said let's try to do the pulse steroid again...she is not crossing out possible dialysis in the future but said that there might be a way to get me at a stabilized creatinine level...she ask me to stay in the hospital for five days...hope everything will work out fine....hope everyone reading this pray that my family and I will surpass this challenges in our life...
Financially speaking its been hard for us to get by on my medicine...I hope I get well soon...

Followup Checkup Before Hemodialysis
Jan 22, 2010 another checkup I wasn't sure if I was to be confined for dialysis today or again to be move to another day. My wife, father and some of my relatives are with me...this is the first time I was accompanied by my Father since I was diagnosed with Glumerulonephritis. I felt the tension and pressure that they were feeling all where scared to hear what my doctor will say....Initially my doctor gave them a brief background of my disease and how she came to the conclusion that I need a Hemodialysis treatment. She ask me to get a KUB ultrasound to check on my kidneys size...we waited for about an hour to get my ultrasound done and another 30 mins to get the result...
Finally the result came out I felt happy that my kidneys are still in the normal size but there was something in the result I didnt understand...they found cyst in my left kidney...I called my doctor if she was still in the hospital to explain the results...luckily she was still there...she read the result and said that historically speaking with her previous patients when cyst is found in kidneys most times steroids wouldn't work anymore...she came to conclusion that the best option I have is to undergo the hemodialysis on monday...before dismissing us she instructed me to increase my steroid intake from 20 mg to 60 mg this way we would now if my kidneys are still reacting to the steroids...we still have to wait for 2 days...I am hopeful everything will work out....
